BUREAU OF PROGRAM SUPPORT AND INFORMATION (BPSI)

Bureau of Program Support & Information (BPSI) 

The Bureau of Program Support and Information (BPSI) provides planning, analytical, educational, and other support needs to division programs and its personnel.

Processing Center Section 
Processes and issues certificates, registrations, permits, disinterment/reinterment approvals; facilitates the drafting and revision of the division’s major plans, reports, and rules and regulations; manages the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program; and implements special projects and activities.

Guam Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (GPDMP) 
Monitors the dispensation of pharmaceutical controlled drugs prescribed to identify its possible misuse or abuse.

Guam Environmental Public Health Laboratory (GEPHL) 
Provides laboratory support for the division’s Mosquito Surveillance and Control Program (MSCP) and the Food Safety Program. 

The Mosquito Laboratory enables MSCP to rear, sort, identify, and store mosquitoes.  The laboratory also conducts pesticide‑resistance testing and is developing the capability to test for pathogens that cause mosquito‑borne diseases.  In addition, the laboratory provides assistance to regional partners.

The Food Laboratory is currently being established and is not yet operational.  Once completed, it will enable DEH to test food samples, monitor food imports, and respond to food‑borne disease outbreaks.
