Supporting Guam’s Aging Population with Care and Dignity

The mission of the Division of Senior Citizens is to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate programs and services, and to identify and leverage all possible resources towards promoting, maintaining and protecting the total well-being of older persons (senior citizens age 60 and older), while safeguarding their dignity, integrity, independence, values and cultures.

Eligibility

Any person, 60 years of age or older, is eligible to receive services through direct services and contracted service providers and vendors of the Division of Senior Citizens under the Older Americans Act, using federal, local matched and local funds. There are no hidden services fees, nor residency and citizenship requirements. Voluntary contributions are encouraged to maintain and expand programs, however, is not required for services to be provided; services cannot be denied for this reason.

• National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP)
• Legal Assistance Services (LAS)
• Adult Protective Services (APS)

• Aging Disability and Resource Center (ADRC)
• State Health Insurance Assistance Program – Guam Medicare Assistance Program
• Senior Medicare Patrol Project (SMP)

Bureau of Adult Protective Services

The Bureau of Adult Protective Services conducts investigations of abuse against older individuals age 60 and older and adults with a disability, 18-59 and provides advocacy, outreach, education and protection to address the abuse, neglect or exploitation of APS victims.
