Diagnostic Lab Testing Now Available for Dengue Serotyping and Influenza Subtyping at Guam Public Health Laboratory
The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) announces that its Guam Public Health Laboratory (GPHL) continues conducting tests for Dengue serotyping and Influenza subtyping. The GPHL relocated from its Mangilao facility to the third floor of the RAN-CARE Building at 761 South Marine Corps Drive, Tamuning, Guam 96913.
The GPHL is a bio-safety level two laboratory and has maintained certification under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) for decades. It also holds a certificate from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulates all laboratory testing performed on humans in the U.S. through CLIA. The laboratory receives specimens for testing from Guam’s two civilian hospitals and private clinics via the Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS), and has performed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing on dengue and influenza for Micronesia islands since 2015.
